Insurance employee flees after borrowing 30 billion VND
Pressured by creditors, a female insurance employee borrowed 30 billion VND at high interest rates and then fled to the Central Highlands.
On October 18, Ha Tinh police said they had just prosecuted and detained Nguyen Thi Tham (38 years old, residing in Thach Dai commune, Thach Ha district) for the crime ofFraudulent appropriation of property, according to Article 174 of the 2015 Penal Code.

According to the investigation documents, Tham was an employee of an insurance company in Ha Tinh. During the process of collecting insurance premiums, to complete the target and expand the market, Tham borrowed money from friends and acquaintances to pay in advance for customers who were due but did not have money to pay.
In early March, the insurance business encountered difficulties, the amount of debt increased, and Tham lost the ability to pay the loans.
Pressured by creditors to pay interest and principal, Tham was afraid of affecting her reputation so she took the risk of borrowing more than 30 billion VND in high interest rates from many people in the province, then fled to the Central Highlands.
After a period of hiding, in mid-October, Tham surrendered.
