Mr. Ha Van Phuc, Khe Xai 2 hamlet (Nghia Loc, Nghia Dan) said that a hornet nest - also known as the "killer" bee by the locals - appeared in his family's room since the beginning of 2018. The family considered this a good omen so they did not chase it away: "Bees making a nest in the house is the "luck" of rice" - Mr. Phuc said. According to the homeowner, this signals a bountiful harvest.

Mrs. Luc Thi Xuan, Mr. Phuc's wife, said: Previously, the beehive was only as small as a fist, near the youngest son's bed, so Mr. Phuc moved the beehive to a higher place. After that, the beehive grew more.

The beehive now hangs down from the roof to the attic, is over 1 meter long and has lots of bees coming in and out.

Currently, people and bees are living together in “harmony” in the house. “The bees have not caused any harm to the family, so we just leave them alone to build their nests,” said Ms. Luc Thi Xuan.

Thai people in Nghe An have different opinions about bees making nests in their houses. People believe that it is a good omen.

However, many villages believe that bees nesting in the house is not good for the family. Moreover, if accidentally stung by a wasp, it will endanger human life and health.
