Awarding the Decision to establish Nghe An Market Management Department
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 24, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the General Department of Market Management held a ceremony to announce the establishment of the Nghe An Market Management Department. Attending the ceremony were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Huu Linh - General Director of the General Department of Market Management.
On October 11, 2018, the Minister of Industry and Trade issued Decision 3649/QD-BCT on the establishment of Nghe An Market Management Department under the General Department of Market Management; On October 12, 2018, the Minister of Industry and Trade issued Decision 3854 assigning the Acting Director of Nghe An Market Management Department to Mr. Tran Dang Ninh.
Nghe An Market Management Department is an organization under the General Department of Market Management, reorganized on the basis of Nghe An Provincial Market Management Department according to the goals and implementation roadmap in the project to establish the General Department of Market Management approved by the Prime Minister.

The Department has the function of assisting the Director General of the General Department of Market Management in state management and organizing law enforcement on prevention, combat and handling of acts of trading in smuggled goods; production and trading of counterfeit goods, banned goods, goods of unknown origin; acts of infringement of intellectual property rights; acts of violating laws on quality, measurement, price, food safety; acts of violating laws on consumer rights protection and acts of commercial fraud according to the provisions of law in Nghe An province; performing specialized inspection functions according to the provisions of law.
The Department has legal status, its own seal and account and is a budget estimate unit according to the provisions of law; is allowed to open transaction accounts and temporary accounts at the State Treasury; and is allowed to set aside funds according to the provisions of law.

Previously, on August 10, 2018, the Prime Minister signed and issued Decision 34/2018/QD-TTg stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the General Department of Market Management under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The Decision takes effect from October 12, 2018.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, comrades Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Tran Huu Linh - General Director of the General Department of Market Management acknowledged and commended the achievements that Nghe An Market Management Department has achieved in the past time. At the same time, they hoped that after its establishment, Nghe An Market Management Department would soon stabilize its organization, strengthen training and build its team, improve public ethics to ensure the task of market management in the area, and make positive contributions to the socio-economic development in the area.
Nghe An has a large area, a diverse transportation system, and a vibrant market, so besides advantages, there are also many difficulties, which are conditions for commercial fraud to thrive. Therefore, in the coming time, especially during the upcoming Lunar New Year, the Market Management Department needs to strengthen the implementation of its assigned functions and tasks to effectively prevent smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods in the area.
