At a joint meeting of the Russian and Belarusian military agencies, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said: "NATO's military activity on Russia's borders has reached an unprecedented level since the Cold War. The Alliance's policy is aimed at strengthening its military presence on its eastern flank."
Mr. Shoigu commented that NATO is actively creating threats to Russia.
In relation to NATO's military activities on the border with Russia, Moscow has repeatedly stated that Russia does not threaten anyone, but will not ignore actions that could endanger its national interests.
