For manual transmission vehicles, drivers usually have to use both feet to operate the vehicle, the left foot to brake and the right foot to accelerate. However, with the introduction of automatic transmission vehicles, manufacturers have removed the clutch pedal so that drivers only need to use their right foot to both accelerate and brake.
