(Baonghean.vn) - Graduating with a bachelor's degree in education with honors, the young man from the red land of Nghia Dan (Nghe An) did not pursue a career in "teaching children" but returned to his hometown to plant forests, develop livestock and earn a large income.

Leading us on the road to the top of the hill, surrounded by endless acacia gardens, Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan (born in 1990) in hamlet 6, Nghia Thinh commune (Nghia Dan) said: "The land here is suitable for hybrid acacia trees, only need to invest about 10 - 12 million VND/ha, after 5 years can profit 60 - 70 million VND".

Like many other young people, when he was in high school, Nguyen Manh Tuan thought that only education would help him firmly step on the path of life. However, when he graduated with a degree in Biology (Hanoi National University of Education) with honors in 2013, Tuan decided to give up his dream of becoming a lecturer and return to his hometown to plant forests and develop livestock farming.

The reason stems from the fact that Tuan realized that his hometown has a lot of land and mountains, which is a great potential for economic development. Coming from a farming family, since he was young, Tuan went with his parents to the forest, clearing dozens of hectares of vacant land and bare hills that his family had contracted. He discussed with his parents to continue investing in renovating the old forest, planting precious woods such as ironwood, lat, hybrid acacia, and eucalyptus on top.

Up to now, after nearly 4 years, Tuan and his family have been able to renovate and plant more than 10 hectares of forest with a total value of hundreds of millions of Dong.

Besides, he also established a livestock farm, invested in raising 3 litters of pigs each year (70 pigs each), choosing a breed of pigs with firm, delicious meat to facilitate consumption.

Nguyen Manh Tuan shared: “Before, I thought that I had to go to university to have a future, but after having a university degree, I longed to get rich on my homeland. That urged me to return to my hometown to plant forests, and I think that was a wise choice.”

Not only is Nguyen Manh Tuan good at economics, he is also an active and enthusiastic Youth Union official in local movements.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Secretary of the Youth Union of Nghia Thinh commune said: "Tuan is a hard-working, diligent person with the will to get rich, a role model in the movement to establish a career and also an exemplary youth union cadre".
