T. and his friends staged a play about being arrested and demanded a ransom of 150 million VND from his parents but were unsuccessful.

On November 7, Hoi An City Police (Quang Nam Province) said that they had just investigated and clarified the case of "detaining people and demanding ransom" that occurred in the area.

Previously, on the evening of November 1, the Hoi An City Police on duty received a distress call from Mr. TB (born in 1975; residing in Cam An Ward, Hoi An City) reporting that his son TQT (born in 2000) was controlled, arrested, beaten by a group of young men of unknown origin and forced to pay the family 150 million VND that T. had borrowed.

Upon receiving the information, that same night, the leaders of Hoi An City Police quickly dispatched forces to the scene to clarify the incident.

T. and his friends acted out a play to demand ransom from his parents.

Through investigation, the police determined that T. had borrowed money from many people in the area. About a month ago, T. left home for Da Nang City to work at a drinking place. However, the salary he earned was not enough to pay off the debt, so T. thought of a risky way.

On November 1, T. contacted and asked PVC (born in 1994; residing in Cam Chau ward, Hoi An city) to stage a scene of T. being arrested and demanding ransom from his parents.

After completing the plan, at around 9:30 p.m. on November 1, T., C. and 4 other people went in a 7-seat car to T.'s house. Here, C.'s group began to act out a scene of beating T. right in front of Mr. B.'s house to scare his family, and gave T. 150 million VND as written in the "debt note".

While performing, C's group saw Mr. B. calling someone on the phone, thinking of reporting to the police, the group "withdrew". The plan failed unexpectedly, T. rented a motel in Dien Ban town (Quang Nam province) to stay.

The next day, T. and C. were caught by Hoi An City Police. At the investigation agency, the "duo" confessed to the entire incident. Currently, Hoi An City Police are completing the documents to handle the above subjects according to regulations.
