To go to the signing of the tournament organization, cF1 experts have come to Hanoi many times to survey, evaluate and determine that the city has enough infrastructure conditions to organize the race such as: airport, traffic infrastructure, hotel system, and freight transport services.

Regarding the race location, the city initially planned to hold the race around Hoan Kiem Lake and some neighboring roads. However, after consulting with relevant ministries and agencies and finding it unreasonable, Hanoi proposed to hold the race at the My Dinh sports center.

To organize the race, the road will be closed for 4-5 days and will affect people's lives. However, the main event will be held on Saturday and Sunday, so the traffic volume will also be reduced. In addition, the city will have appropriate traffic diversion plans to ensure smooth traffic.

The name Formula 1 refers to the set of rules that all participating teams must adhere to, originally called Formula A. The first world championship race was held in 1950 at Silverstone (England).

Of the 21 countries hosting the 2018 Formula 1 Grand Prix, six are Asian. Japan was the first Asian country to host a Formula 1 race. After two seasons in 1976 and 1977, Japan stopped hosting and returned in 1987. The remaining five are China, Singapore, Malaysia, Macau and Bahrain.
