Dien Chau voters worried about Bung River dike erosion

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 13, at Dien Quang commune (Dien Chau district), delegates of the Provincial People's Council: Cao Thi Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ton Manh - Deputy Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Cao Thi Thuy - Secretary of the Dien Phu commune Party Committee had a meeting with voters of the three communes of Dien Quang, Dien Hoa, and Dien Hanh.

At the meeting with voters, after listening to Provincial People's Council delegate Ton Manh report on the expected content and program of the 8th session of the Provincial People's Council at the end of 2018, 13 voters reflected and recommended more than 20 issues to the delegates.

The issue that most voters are concerned about is the implementation of the policy to support the repair and construction of houses for people with meritorious services according to Decision 22 of the Government, many subjects have not yet benefited and this policy will continue to be implemented.

Voter Phan Duc Thai (Hamlet 3, Dien Quang Commune) reported that he is a 3/4 war invalid. Although he had applied for support to repair his house in the first phase of the policy implementation, it has not been approved yet.

Worried about the serious erosion of the Bung River dike passing through the area, voter Vu Luc (Hamlet 6, Dien Hoa Commune) requested that all levels and sectors pay attention to allocating funds to fix the problem.

Also related to the investment issue, voter Le Hue (Hamlet 3, Dien Quang Commune) requested to ensure safety in the construction area of ​​the unfinished Dien Quang Water Plant, because an accident that caused human casualties had occurred there; at the same time, attention should be paid to investing to complete the project to bring clean water to the people.

Many voters also reflected on many issues related to land management, environmental protection in craft villages; policies for people with meritorious services; management of multi-level marketing activities, functional foods in residential areas...

At the end of the meeting with voters, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Cao Thi Hien directly explained many issues of concern to voters. Regarding housing support for people with meritorious services according to Decision 22/2013/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, the Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council said:Currently, based on the central budget, the province has directed localities to focus on disbursing support to families whose records have been approved; unapproved records and cases in need of new support will continue to be collected by localities and sent to the Government for study and resolution.

Sharing the concerns and worries of voters regarding the erosion of the Bung River dike, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Cao Thi Hien also informed that this is a part of the project to repair and upgrade the drainage system of Vach Nam and Bung River, which started in 2012; however, because the project was implemented during the period of public investment cuts, the capital was not allocated in time.

The Provincial People's Committee has also directed the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to continue mobilizing capital sources to complete this project.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Cao Thi Hien also informed the results of handling many comments and proposals from voters at the meeting with contents such as: Restoring the rural power grid and upgrading the rural low-voltage system, quality of electricity for daily life; resolving the regime for frontline workers; the situation of "land brokers" in rural areas.
