While being chased and captured by the authorities, the illegal logger shouted to his relatives, falsely accused the forest rangers of stealing wood, and then attacked three forest rangers.

The above incident occurred on the morning of November 15, in Cao Quang commune, Tuyen Hoa district (Quang Binh). At that time, 3 forest rangers were on duty at the checkpoint when they discovered a truck with license plate 73C - 011.52 driven by Nguyen Van Cuong (born in 1989), residing in Cao Quang commune, carrying a number of teak wood frames (group II) passing through the checkpoint.

The task force asked Cuong to stop the car for inspection, but Cuong accelerated and ran away. The forest rangers used their vehicles to chase him. While searching for the subject, the task force received information that Cuong had driven into a house and had taken some wood out of the car to destroy the evidence.

Scene of the incident.

Seeing the police appear, Cuong continued to drive away. When he reached Cao Canh village, Cao Quang commune, he crashed into a pile of rocks on the side of the road and could not continue moving.

At the same time, the working group arrived and asked Cuong to open the car door to work and show his papers. However, Cuong locked the door and barricaded himself in the car. When the rangers took control, Cuong called his relatives and shouted that the rangers were "stealing wood".

After that, many strangers appeared and tried to prevent the police from doing their duty. Seeing this, a forest ranger fired a warning shot into the air. However, the extremists attacked the forest ranger.

During the scuffle with the rangers, a man named Cuong was hit by a rubber bullet in the thigh. Three rangers were surrounded and beaten by the subjects, resulting in serious injuries.

It is known that after the incident, forest rangers Nguyen Trung Nghia and Pham Phong Phu were taken to the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi for emergency treatment. Mr. Nghia was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, while Phu had a black eye and many injuries on his back. Mr. Truong Khanh Bang, the remaining forest ranger who was injured in the hand, is still being monitored.

The case is still being investigated and clarified by Tuyen Hoa District Police.
