Yen Dai Parish urgently completes nearly 100 billion VND project to welcome Christmas 2018
(Baonghean.vn) - To serve religious activities during the upcoming Christmas season and to serve the IX Night of Light in Vinh diocese, celebrating Christmas 2018, Yen Dai parish in Nghi Phu commune, Vinh city is mobilizing human and material resources to carry out the final items of phase 1 of the church project.
Yen Dai Parish was separated and established from Lang Anh Parish (Nghi Loc District) in 1923, belonging to Cau Ram deanery (Vinh City), currently with Father Hoang Xuan Lap as parish priest (from February 2017 to present).

Construction began in May 2013, and the Yen Dai Parish Church is located on the site of the old church (built in the early 20th century and seriously degraded by early 2013).

With a large and modern scale, Yen Dai Parish Church is expected to be the most modern Catholic church in Vietnam when completed with a total construction cost of nearly 100 billion VND, mainly mobilized from the people and calling for contributions from benefactors and parish children working far away.
The completed project will be a communal house serving the worship and activities of more than 5,500 parishioners of three parishes: Dong Kien, Dong Yen and Dong Tan.

Previously, on October 31, 2018, Yen Dai parish organized the hanging of 5 bells cast in the sound scale of Do, Re, Mi, Pha, Xon in France, one of which weighed over 1000 kg.
This is the first bell hanging, the second will be hung a few days before the IX Night of Light in Vinh Diocese, celebrating Christmas 2018.
