Attempts to isolate a giant country like Russia are “foolish vanity” that only leads to the opposite effect. Such an opinion was expressed by Professor Emeritus of New York University and Princeton University Stephen Cohen, as reflected by the American magazine The Natio.

In Professor Cohen's opinion, the idea of isolating Russia demonstrates the "incompetence" of US politicians in the field of foreign policy. At the same time, the professor believes that today there can be no talk of any isolation of Russia, because since 2014 Moscow has become the most diplomatically active capital in the world.

The Russian Federation is expanding its political, military and economic partnerships with many countries around the world. In addition, Russia is currently the main architect and coordinator of the three most important negotiation processes - on Syria, Serbia and Kosovo, and even on Afghanistan - the American professor noted. In his opinion, no country can compete with Russia in terms of diplomatic success.

Taking all this into account, it is clear that the time has come for the United States to learn from Russia, rather than demanding that Moscow conform to Washington's view of world politics. And if the United States does not do so, it risks falling into even greater self-isolation, - Professor Stephen Cohen concluded.
