Equipped with 4 powerful electric motors for each wheel, the R1T can accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.

After many years of development, the American startup Rivian officially launched its first "brainchild" at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The pickup truck named R1T is highly appreciated for its strength, modern equipment and is especially environmentally friendly when operating entirely on electricity.

The R1T uses four separate electric motors that deliver up to 147kW of power to each wheel, unlike most electric cars today that are typically powered by just one motor. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds.

With three battery pack options including 105 kWh, 130 kWh and 180 kWh, the R1T can continuously travel 370 - 645 km on a single charge. The vehicle is integrated with fast charging technology, however, due to the large battery capacity, Rivian's pickup truck still needs quite a long time to fully charge.

The R1T has dimensions not too different from current diesel pickup trucks with length x width x height of 5.7 x 2.18 x 1.82 m. The vehicle has a payload of about 798 kg with a pulling capacity of up to nearly 5 tons. The chassis is made of high-quality composite materials and wood.

The R1T is equipped with a series of modern technologies such as cameras, sensors, radars, and a high-precision GPS LIDAR positioning system, allowing the vehicle to drive itself on the highway. In addition, the vehicle also has a comfortable interior and an anti-theft security system. Rivian's electric vehicle is expected to be on the market in 2020.
