Ukraine's martial law does not threaten Crimea
(Baonghean.vn) - On November 27, the head of the Crimean government, Mr. Sergei Aksyonov, said that Kiev's decision to impose martial law after the recent clash between Russian and Ukrainian naval vessels in the Kerch Strait does not pose a threat to the Crimean peninsula.

In an interview with Rossiya-1 Radio, Mr. Aksyonov stated: "Ukraine's martial law does not pose a threat to Crimea. I am sure that we have enough manpower and weapons in the Republic of Crimea. First of all, thanks to President Vladimir Putin, Crimea is protected and has become an invulnerable fortress like the entire territory of Russia. No one is allowed to illegally enter the border area of the Russian state, in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Code."
On November 25, the Ukrainian warships Berdyansk and Nikopol and the tugboat Yany Kapu crossed the Russian maritime border. According to Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), the Ukrainian ships headed to the Kerch Strait, the gateway to the Sea of Azov, where they were detained by Russia for not stopping at Moscow’s lawful request.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow will prevent any attempts to challenge the country's sovereignty and security. According to the ministry, Kiev's actions in coordination with the United States and the European Union (EU) are aimed at provoking tensions in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, which could have serious consequences.
Similarly, the Kremlin said that the ship's seizure was simply Moscow's response to foreign military vessels entering Russian territorial waters./.
