Nghe An: Need to soon establish an arbitration council to operate more professionally

(Baonghean.vn) - On December 2, the Department of Culture and Sports held a conference to review the refereeing work of Nghe An province in 2018 with the aim of evaluating the refereeing work of sports tournaments during the year; discussing tasks and solutions for refereeing work in 2019 and the following years.

This is the first conference organized to connect the role of State management with the expertise of refereeing. In addition to the Organizing Committee's assessment of the results achieved in the past time, a number of key solutions for the coming time, at the conference there were a number of comments, recommendations, and proposals that are very fundamental solutions. From there, it helps state managers of sports to receive and recognize the limitations in practice that need to be addressed to improve refereeing work.

Opinions focused on the role of state management, which needs to have optimal solutions to improve the ethics, qualifications, and lifestyle of referees to manage fair competitions, especially referees in sensitive fields such as martial arts, football, etc. In addition, it is necessary to soon establish a referee council based on selecting people with expertise, experience, and refereeing skills to manage the referee team more professionally.

Along with that, the delegates attending the conference also paid attention to the training and professional development for the referee team, ensuring that every year 1-2 times, Central lecturers are invited to teach, creating conditions for referees to improve their professional skills from elementary to advanced level, reaching the level to participate in national and international arbitration, gaining a lot of experience for the arbitration work in the province.

At the same time, closely coordinate with agencies and localities when mobilizing referees to both manage referees well and create conditions for referees to work with peace of mind during their deployment; pay attention to developing the force and quality of referees, especially football referees...

Also at the conference, representatives of the Department of Culture and Sports awarded certificates of merit to 14 referees with achievements in managing sports tournaments in 2018./.
