Voters in Ky Son propose to soon bring national grid electricity to especially disadvantaged villages and hamlets
(Baonghean.vn) - That is one of the contents that voters of My Ly commune, Ky Son district proposed to National Assembly delegates at the voter contact conference on the morning of December 5.
My Ly is a remote and extremely disadvantaged border commune, with a total natural area of 27,044 hectares; with 5,581 people and 1,247 households. The commune has 12 villages and 3 ethnic groups living together including Thai, Mong, Kho Mu; the level of education is uneven, so people's lives face many difficulties. The poverty rate is up to 73.30%.
After listening to the National Assembly delegates announce the results of the content and program of the 6th session of the 14th National Assembly, voters of My Ly commune expressed their excitement, agreement and trust in the leadership of the Party, the management of the Government, ministries and branches; and at the same time made recommendations on issues of concern.

Voter Lo Van Lieu - Chairman of the People's Committee of My Ly commune, expressed concern that if the hydropower project is implemented in the commune, it will easily cause a major impact on the environment, affecting all aspects of activities and life of the government and people as well as the local economy, society, national defense and security... Therefore, he suggested that it is necessary to study the option of not implementing the construction of the My Ly hydropower project so that people can feel secure in production.
In addition, voters also said that the recent natural disasters and floods caused heavy damage to local people: 93 households were flooded, 8 households had their houses and properties swept away, 43 households had to be urgently evacuated, and up to now, more than 20 households still do not have a house. Voters hope that all levels and sectors need to have a plan to quickly relocate people to new places so that people can soon stabilize their lives.

Voter Gia Ba Ca (Nhot Lot village) reported that currently, 10/12 villages in My Ly commune still have no electricity, 4 villages have no phone signal, causing many inconveniences for people's lives, and the access to information sources is still limited. Therefore, voters requested the National Assembly to give opinions to promote the implementation of the project to bring the national power grid to remote villages in the border areas, helping people improve their quality of life, promote socio-economic development, national defense and security.
Voter Vuong Hai Yen (Xieng Tam village) mentioned the problem of child marriage in the villages in My Ly commune, many children get married when they are only 13-14 years old. Child marriage not only violates the law but also causes many consequences for the family and affects society; leading to poverty, illiteracy and affecting the health of mothers and children... To eliminate hunger, reduce poverty and improve the intellectual level of people in remote villages, voters suggested that the National Assembly pay attention and take measures to raise awareness among people to push back the situation of child marriage in the area.
In addition, voters of My Ly commune also reflected issues related to the construction of local traffic infrastructure.

At the conference, voters' recommendations were answered, explained and clarified by the leaders of Ky Son district and comrade Le Quang Huy - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment. At the same time, voters' opinions will be received and synthesized by the provincial National Assembly Delegation to be sent to relevant ministries, branches and agencies for early resolution and response to voters.
