Fox Sports gave Quang Hai the highest rating in the Vietnamese national team.
Journalist Akshat Mehrish praised the 21-year-old midfielder's outstanding performance in the second leg of the AFF Cup semi-final against the Philippines on the evening of December 6th.
"Another match has passed and once again Nguyen Quang Hai is being talked about," Mehrish wrote, giving the Hanoi midfielder a score of 9. "With an outstanding performance, he controlled the midfield well and constantly created dangerous attacking opportunities. The Vietnamese playmaker had an unsuccessful bicycle kick, but made no mistakes in the opening goal."

Quang Hai's goal in the 83rd minute helped Vietnam relieve the pressure of defending against the Philippines' relentless attacks. Phan Van Duc - the player who set up Quang Hai's goal - wasFox SportsHe gave it 7 points. "Van Duc played more outstandingly than striker Anh Duc in this match, showing mobility and causing difficulties for the opposing defense," Mehrish commented.
The Vietnamese player who received the second highest rating was Doan Van Hau. Despite being tackled on the ground at least three times due to collisions, he remained flawless in defense. "Van Hau has played impressively since the start of the tournament and once again he displayed high form against the Philippines. The 19-year-old defender provides Vietnam with more tactical options on the left flank," wrote the journalist.Fox SportsCommentary.
Three starting players who received low ratings in Vietnam were goalkeeper Dang Van Lam, midfielder Luong Xuan Truong, and striker Anh Duc. Xuan Truong only played 60 minutes in this match and didn't show much. Journalist Mehrish expressed disappointment: "Xuan Truong was the underperforming player in Vietnam today, as he couldn't control the game."
A 2-1 victory in the second leg propelled Vietnam into the final, where they will face Malaysia again. The first leg took place at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Kuala Lumpur) on December 11th, while the second leg was held at My Dinh Stadium four days later.
