Sitting posture when driving a car is extremely important, helping the driver reduce stress and fatigue. Below is the method to have the most correct sitting posture.

Vision

Ideally, the driver's eyes should be looking straight out of the middle of the front windshield and about 5-6 cm above the dashboard. Check again that the rearview mirrors and the interior of the car are clearly visible. If not, adjust the mirrors. If lower, the driver's eyes cannot see the entire front of the car and control the nose area. But if higher, the driver tends to look near and cannot anticipate upcoming situations.

In fact, with traffic conditions in Vietnam, drivers like to sit high to easily observe, weave and avoid motorbikes. But in terms of safety, sitting too high is not good. In the car door of Mercedes-Benz, there is an additional reinforced frame to absorb the impact force of the side. When you sit too high, pressing your whole body on the mirror, the protection will be worse.

Sitting posture

To avoid back pain, you need to adopt the correct sitting posture, with your buttocks and back square, fully resting on the driver's seat. Sitting in the correct posture also helps you stay alert throughout the long journey.

Driver's seat distance

To ensure the most correct seat distance adjustment, you should start the car and then press the brake pedal a few times. This will help you get used to the brake pedal travel, thereby adjusting the most appropriate distance. Adjust so that your right foot can fully press the accelerator and brake, your knee is bent at an angle of about 120 degrees. Do not adjust the driver's seat too far, this will cause your knee to be straight, thereby reducing the effect of the lever force and losing the feeling of the brake and accelerator pedal travel. On the contrary, if the driver's seat is too close, the knee will touch the dashboard, hindering your operation.

Seat tilt

The correct driving position is for the back of the seat to be parallel to the steering column. However, you can adjust it to anywhere between 95 and 110 degrees. To check if the seat tilt is correct, place your wrists at the highest point on the steering wheel. If it feels comfortable while maintaining a straight backrest, then you are doing it right.

Steering wheel height

The height of the steering wheel should be adjusted so that the angle of the arms is level with the body and at the same time does not block the view of the instrument cluster. The arms should be placed at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions and adjusted accordingly.

Chair height

Adjusting the seat height helps you see ahead more easily, avoiding neck strain and unfortunate accidents on the road, while still having a good view of the dashboard.

Typically, for a comfortable driving position, the appropriate height allows you to place a hand width between your head and the ceiling.

Headrest

It is best to adjust the headrest higher than the eyelids and keep a distance of 2-3cm from the head. If this distance cannot be achieved, the angle of the seat back should be adjusted to a comfortable driving position.

When driving, you should also keep your head slightly forward and keep the right distance to avoid the risk of neck injury when the distance is too far.

When it rains, many roads are flooded. At this time, driving a motorbike must be careful. If you make a mistake, it will not only endanger your life but also cause your vehicle to be quickly destroyed.
