Popularizing the online HIV database website in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 12, Nghe An Department of Health coordinated with the Center for Community Health Development Research to organize a workshop to disseminate the online HIV database website on the Department of Health's electronic information page.

The online HIV/AIDS database is a data storage and processing tool to facilitate those in need to easily access, exploit and use quickly and effectively the most basic and popular data of the HIV/AIDS prevention program in Nghe An through the official website of the Nghe An Department of Health.
This online HIV database was built and developed by the Center for Community Health Development Research (CCRD) in cooperation with the Vietnam Administration for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control (VAAC) and the Nghe An Department of Health within the framework of the project "Improving the HIV/AIDS program information system" funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Accordingly, this online database will periodically synthesize and represent in a comprehensive and general manner all reported data of the HIV/AIDS prevention program at the provincial and district levels according to the most basic and common indicators to reflect the HIV epidemic situation as well as the results of activities and resources of the HIV/AIDS prevention program at the local level.
The data in this website is presented at the provincial and district levels and divided into 4 groups of indicators: Epidemiology; Prevention; Care, treatment & prevention of mother-to-child transmission; Resources. In each group of indicators, the reported data is also divided into 3 types of reports: monthly reports, quarterly reports and annual reports to meet the data needs of users.

Users can access the Nghe An Department of Health Electronic Information Portal, select the icon "HIV/AIDS Database" to access or log in directly to the online HIV/AIDS database via the addresshttp://hiv.nghean.gov.vn.
As of September 30, 2018, the total number of infected people in the province was 9,616, ranking 6th in the country, of which 6,227 people progressed to AIDS, 4,000 people died. Currently, the province has 12 treatment facilities and 16 Methadone dispensing points with 86% of people knowing their HIV status, 76% being treated with antiretroviral drugs.
