Nghe An police launch a concentrated campaign to attack and suppress crime.

From 8:00 AM on December 16, 2018, until the end of February 15, 2019, the Director of the Nghe An Provincial Police issued an order for police units and localities to simultaneously launch a high-intensity campaign to combat and suppress crime and ensure security and order before, during, and after the Lunar New Year of the Pig 2019.

Following the deployment order, police forces in all units and localities will mobilize maximum resources and apply comprehensive and decisive operational measures to vigorously combat and suppress all types of crime, ensuring security and order for the people. At the same time, the Provincial Police will strengthen the inspection of the implementation of the order, as well as the duty and combat readiness regimes at police units and localities.

In 2018, the Nghe An Provincial Police investigated and clarified 869 out of 1,036 cases of social order violations, arresting over 1,300 suspects and recovering assets worth approximately 16 billion VND. This included dismantling 32 gangs involved in theft, robbery, and debt collection. They also apprehended and prosecuted over 1,000 cases and nearly 5,000 individuals involved in gambling, seizing money and assets totaling over 13 billion VND, and clarifying gambling activities involving nearly 100 billion VND.

To ensure absolute safety for the people celebrating Tet and welcoming the Lunar New Year 2019 (Year of the Pig), as well as other activities at the beginning of 2019, on November 15, 2018, the Nghe An Provincial Police issued a plan for a high-intensity campaign to combat crime. The goal is to achieve an investigation and discovery rate of over 81% for criminal cases, over 90% for serious cases, and 100% for very serious and especially serious cases. The plan also directs measures to combat, suppress, and handle emerging types of crime such as: murder, intentional infliction of injury, robbery, theft, and resistance to public officials.

With strong determination, the Nghe An Provincial Police will focus on leadership, direction, and coordination with agencies, departments, organizations, and all sectors of the population to effectively prevent, combat, and suppress all types of crimes and violations of the law, contributing to ensuring security and order, and serving the people to celebrate Tet and welcome the Lunar New Year 2019 safely and healthily.
