204 projects participated in the provincial Science and Technology competition
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 19, the Department of Education and Training organized a provincial-level Science and Technology competition for high school students in the 2018-2019 school year.
This is the 6th year Nghe An has organized the provincial Science and Technology Competition and the number and quality of projects have been increasing. In 2018-2019 alone, the competition had the participation of 204 projects from 21 education departments and 63 high schools in the province. The competition focused on 17 fields including: Chemistry, Social and behavioral sciences, environmental science, computer science, electrical and mechanical engineering, energy and transportation, environmental management, physics and technology....

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the leader of the Department of Education and Training also affirmed: Encouraging high school students to research science, technology, and engineering and apply the knowledge they have learned to solve practical problems in life not only aims to develop students' capacity but also contributes to improving the quality of teaching in schools.
Through scientific and technical research activities, we have promoted innovation in organizational forms and teaching methods, and in testing and evaluating students' learning outcomes in schools.
The contest is also a useful playground, intellectual and scientific exchange of students and teachers of secondary and high schools in Nghe An province. From there, gradually create connections to bring scientists and laboratories of universities closer to high schools, help students explore scientific research and create the premise, fuel the movement of scientific and technical innovation in schools.

Previously, in the 2017-2018 school year, after the provincial Science and Technology Competition, 7 projects were selected to participate in the national competition and 2 projects won first prize. In particular, the project of Treating salt water into fresh water using vacuum technology and solar energy by students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted was selected to participate in the international competition in the United States.
Nghe An student's project was selected to participate in the International Science and Technology Competition in the US.
