Man Utd fires coach Mourinho
The "Red Devils" announced their farewell to the Portuguese coach after two and a half years of association on the afternoon of December 18.

"We would like to announce that Jose Mourinho has left the club," the club's website confirmed in a three-sentence statement. "We would like to thank Mourinho for his work for the club and wish him well for the future. Manchester United will appoint an interim manager until the end of the season and in the meantime we will plan our search for a permanent manager."
The 55-year-old coach, who helped Man Utd win the Europa League and the League Cup, just suffered a 1-3 defeat at Liverpool in round 17 of the Premier League. The result left the "Red Devils" 19 points behind the top of the table, 11 points behind the top four.
