Mr. Bae Ji-won accepted the position of head coach of the newly established club FC Avenir, playing in the Malaysian Third Division.

Coach Bae Ji-won has been involved with Vietnamese football for nearly a year.

"Leading FC Avenir is the most special experience in my coaching career. This is an exciting challenge. I will do everything to help the team perform at its best," coach Bae Ji-won shared on his inauguration day.

Mr. Bae Ji-won worked in Thailand before accepting the invitation of Coach Park Hang-seo to come to Vietnam. As a fitness coach, he contributed greatly to the achievements of U23 Vietnam winning the Asian silver medal, the Vietnam Olympic team reaching the semi-finals of the Asian Games and the Vietnam team winning the AFF Cup.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) wanted to keep coach Bae Ji-won. However, he voluntarily resigned to go to Malaysia to lead FC Avenir. This team was founded by Mr. Lee Dong-jun, the representative of Mr. Bae Ji-won himself.

FC Avenir will start operating from 2019, participating in the Malaysian Third Division. The team members are mainly Korean students.

"I hope coach Bae Ji-won, with his wealth of experience, especially in Southeast Asian football, will help the newly established club get back on track," said Lee Dong-jun.
