Information from Quang Ninh Provincial Police on December 23 said that after 2 months of searching, recently, the authorities arrested Nguyen Xuan Thi (born in 1976, residing in Dong Da district, Hanoi), a subject identified as an accomplice, who is wanted in the case of "murder and illegal detention" that occurred in Diem Thuy area, Cua Ong ward, Cam Pha city, Quang Ninh province before.

According to Quang Ninh Police, the leading suspect, Vu Hoa Vinh (born in 1983, in Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province), is still on the run and is wanted nationwide.

Then, this group of people broke down the door of room 301 and arrested Mr. Pham Van Phu (born in 1985, residing in Cap Tien village, Dong Xa commune, Van Don district) and took Mr. Phu out of the motel.

As a result, from September 24 to October 4, the Provincial Police Department of Investigation temporarily detained 4 subjects including: Nguyen Van Luyen (born in 1976), Nguyen Ngoc Tran (born in 1983), Nguyen Van Tung (1992), all living in Cam Pha City, Quang Ninh Province and Chao The Anh (born in 1994), residing in Lua village, Yen Nhan commune, Thuong Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province).

At the police station, the subjects initially confessed that on June 22, Mr. Pham Van Phu went to Hoang Anh pawnshop of Vu Hoa Vinh (born in 1983, in area 10B, Cua Ong ward, Cam Pha city) to borrow 50 million VND for a term of 1 month.

However, when the deadline came, Mr. Phu did not come to pay and showed signs of running away, so Vinh and his accomplices continuously called and even went to Mr. Phu's family restaurant to threaten and demand the debt. Seeing the tense situation, Mr. Phu's father, Mr. Pham Van Hao, stepped in to take the debt and promised to pay Vinh on September 13. However, when the deadline came, Mr. Phu's family still had not paid Vinh.

Angry and wanting to beat Phu to teach him a lesson, at around 3am on September 14, Vinh and the group got into two cars and went to the Hong Ninh motel where Phu was staying, forcing Phu to get into the car and taking him to an empty lot in Group 1, Nam Son 2 area, Cam Son ward, Cam Pha city, where they brutally beat him. After that, the group left, leaving Phu in a state of serious injury.

At noon on the same day, September 14, when returning to the scene, some people in this group discovered that Mr. Phu had died, so they hid Mr. Phu's body in a car parked in another vacant lot and at about 11 p.m. on the same day, they dumped it on National Highway 18A, in Hamlet 3, Cam Hai Commune, Cam Pha City. Afterwards, the people took the car home to wash, hide it and fled their residence.
