(Baonghean.vn) - On December 27, Thai Hoa town and Quynh Luu district simultaneously launched a campaign to suppress all types of crimes and clear traffic safety corridors before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2019.

In 2018, the town police arrested and handled 64 cases, 247 subjects of gambling; broke 04 special projects to fight against drugs; discovered and handled 21 cases, 22 subjects of illegal transportation, trading, and storage of drugs; discovered and handled 34 cases, 39 subjects of illegal transportation, storage, and use of firecrackers, confiscating 692 kg of various types of firecrackers.
In this campaign to suppress crime, ensure security and order, and clear the traffic corridor, Thai Hoa called for the active participation of the entire political system and all classes of people. In particular, focusing on propaganda work, mobilizing people to voluntarily hand over weapons and denounce violations.
In particular, Thai Hoa focuses on the strong fight against illegal trading, storage and use of firecrackers. From there, to maintain social order and safety in the area before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2019.

After the launching ceremony, representatives of departments, branches and localities in Thai Hoa town signed a commitment to effectively carry out the work of attacking and suppressing crime during the 2019 Lunar New Year and organized a parade on the central streets of the town.

On the first day of operation, the town's functional forces cleared the traffic safety corridor for 150 out of 400 households doing business along National Highway 1A, 48B, the town's intersection, under the overpass, and Ba Thiem market that violated sidewalk encroachment. Thereby, dozens of temporary structures such as mobile billboards, canopies, water tanks, etc. were forcibly dismantled; at the same time, records were drawn up for handling the violators.
During this campaign, Quynh Hong and Quynh Hau communes also mobilized forces and means to resolutely clear illegal signs and billboards placed on the roadside, sidewalk, tarpaulins, mobile roofs; gathering points for construction materials and illegally traded goods along National Highway 1A through the two communes.
