Midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai could not surpass Bui Thi Thu Thao in the vote for the 2018 National Outstanding Athlete and Coach.
The election of outstanding athletes, coaches, and athletes and coaches of disabled sports nationwide in 2018 was held this morning. According to the results announced by the organizing committee, long jumper Bui Thi Thu Thao became the winner of the 2018 National Outstanding Athlete category with 700 points.

In the category of outstanding coach, Thu Thao's teacher - Coach Nguyen Manh Hieu was honored with 296 points. The second place was Coach Le Van Quang of the Vietnamese rowing team with 172 points.
The national best disabled athlete is Vo Thanh Tung with 385 points and the national best disabled coach is Bui Thanh Tam with 181 points.
