Authorities seized a vehicle with fake license plates carrying over 2.4 cubic meters of wood.

At approximately 2:30 AM on December 28th, noticing suspicious activity, a patrol team from the Traffic Police Department of Ky Son District, while on duty in Tham Hon village, Na Ngoi commune, ordered a pickup truck with license plate 37A - 021.86, driven by Mr. Tran Van Phong, born in 1975, residing in Quang Phu block, Quang Tien ward, Thai Hoa town, Nghe An province, to stop.

Upon inspection, authorities discovered that the vehicle's blue license plate (a state-issued plate) was fake, and that the back seats and cargo area were full of wood. Authorities took the driver and all the wood to the Ky Son District Police headquarters for questioning.

Upon inspecting the vehicle, authorities discovered 32 finished wooden planks inside the vehicle and its cargo area. Each plank measured over 1 meter in length, 32 to 50 cm in width, and 8 to 14 cm or thicker, with a total volume of 2.4 cubic meters.³.

At the police station, driver Tran Van Phong confessed that the wood was yellow heartwood. Phong admitted to being hired to drive for a man named Ha in Khe Kien village, Luu Kien commune, Tuong Duong district.
