After AFF Cup, transfer value of many Vietnamese players is expected to increase rapidly
(Baonghean.vn) - With the success of the U23, Olympic and Vietnamese national teams in the past year, the value of Vietnamese players is predicted to increase significantly compared to the numbers recorded on the transfer market so far.
From the famous transfers

In 2004, Vietnamese football began to have its first breakthrough in the player transfer market when midfielder Tran Truong Giang of Tien Giang, after playing very successfully in the Tiger Cup 2002, was bought by Binh Duong team for 1 billion VND and was paid a salary of 15 million VND/month. At that time, this amount of money was considered a big boost for potential domestic players to strive, at the same time it also opened a new era for clubs to hunt for quality domestic players to strengthen their squad.
In 2008, the Vietnamese transfer market was in a fever again when striker Le Cong Vinh was bought by Mr. Hien to Hanoi T&T for 7 billion VND. This figure was later surpassed when a series of players were transferred in 2009 such as Nhu Thanh to Vissai Ninh Binh for nearly 8 billion VND with a salary of 50 million VND/month.
Especially after the 2010 season, newly emerging giants such as Navibank Saigon and Xuan Thanh Saigon have slashed the transfer price with a "huge" figure of 9 billion VND/3 years for striker Quang Hai (from Khatoco Khanh Hoa to Navibank Saigon) and 12 billion VND/3 years for center back Le Phuoc Tu (from Lam Son Thanh Hoa to Xuan Thanh Saigon).
Not only buying Quang Hai and Phuoc Tu, these two Ho Chi Minh City teams also spent money to buy Phan Van Tai Em (7 billion VND/3 years), Nguyen Anh Tuan (6 billion VND/3 years), Le Sy Manh (5 billion VND/3 years), Luong Van Duoc Em (5 billion VND/3 years), Nguyen Minh Duc (5 billion VND/3 years) with salaries ranging from 35 million to 40 million VND/month; Tran Duy Quang, Tran Truong Giang, Nguyen Hoang Vuong, Truong Van Hai played for about 1 billion VND for one season and had a salary of about 25 million to 30 million VND/month. Meanwhile, Minh Phuong from DTLA to SHB Da Nang was worth approximately 5 billion VND.
Thus, it can be seen that at that time, the most talented players of Vietnamese football were valued very highly, even over $500,000, so it is not difficult to understand that with their talent and the successes of the Vietnamese national team at all levels in the past year, the transfer value increased many times.
Heroes of today
Among the players who just won the AFF Championship, Que Ngoc Hai is the first name to find a new destination when he transferred from SLNA to The Cong Club, with a 3-year contract and a signing fee of 3 billion VND/year.
On international websites about current player valuations, there are also some faces of the Vietnamese national team, but the amount of money that experts put next to those names is not really worthy.
The most prominent name with the highest price is the Nghe An player, Trong Hoang with a price of 100,000$ equivalent to 2.3 billion VND. This number does not reflect the reality of Trong Hoang's price in recent transfers from SLNA to B.BD and then to FLC.Thanh Hoa. Therefore, the above numbers are for reference only and many other names of the current Vietnam National Team are not valued on these pages.
The most favorite player in Vietnam in 2018, striker Cong Phuong, in 21 appearances for the national team, the Nghe An player scored 5 goals (efficiency 0.24 goals/match). After the success of the U23 Asia, Cong Phuong was valued at 70 billion by Buriram United, Thailand, however the deal has not been signed and Mr. Duc also affirmed "Cong Phuong is not for sale".
Many people are still skeptical about the 70 billion transfer figure. However, compared to Indonesian striker Stefano Lilipaly, Cong Phuong is not inferior, if not much more prominent recently.
Also part of the success of the Vietnam U23 team, goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung is valued almost as much as Cong Phuong (70 billion VND). However, in terms of club achievements, he only won 1 V.League runner-up.
The greatest success of this player with his amazing saves contributed significantly to the U23 Asian Cup victory of the Vietnamese team. In terms of stability, Bui Tien Dung is temporarily at a disadvantage. However, Bui Tien Dung is still very young and he still has many opportunities to continue to improve himself. It can be affirmed that, if compared with the previous generation, the current generation of players of the Vietnamese team is showing outstanding qualities, achievements and expertise.

With the Vietnamese football transfer market, the current value of Vietnam national team players is easily inflated, ready to have contracts signed with prices of tens of billions. With their talent and young age, fans are not surprised when Quang Hai, Cong Phuong, Van Hau, Phan Van Duc... have offers from tens to hundreds of billions of dong.
The current market figures cannot accurately represent the true value of players, because Vietnam has not yet formed a true transfer market. While the regional market and tournaments are not within the FIFA framework, forming a professional transfer market and fair valuation between managers and players will still be in the future.
