U21 SLNA goalkeeper will go South

Recently, the Binh Phuoc Province Sports Training and Competition Center sent a document requesting SLNA Football Joint Stock Company to lend goalkeeper Duong Van Cuong to play for Binh Phuoc for a period of 1 year. The SLNA Football Joint Stock Company's Board of Directors agreed. Thus, Duong Van Cuong will wear Binh Phuoc's shirt in the 2019 season.

The goalkeeper from Yen Thanh is a familiar face to experts and football fans in Nghe An. Duong Van Cuong was born in 1999 and has played prominently for youth teams such as U17, U19 and U21 SLNA... participating in the finals. Notably, at the 2017 National U19 Finals, Duong Van Cuong was voted "Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament".

In the last 2 seasons (2017 and 2018), this goalkeeper played for Viettel and Pho Hien in the National Second Division, on loan. Duong Van Cuong contributed greatly to Pho Hien's promotion last season. Unfortunately, the 19-year-old goalkeeper has not had the honor of being on the SLNA first team.

With impressive performances for Viettel, Pho Hien and SLNA’s youth teams, Duong Van Cuong has “caught the eye” of the coaching staff of the Binh Phuoc First Division team. According to research, the goalkeeper from Yen Thanh is the only face from SLNA’s academy that the Southeast team has borrowed to prepare for the new season.

Hopefully, Duong Van Cuong will play well, helping Binh Phuoc achieve positive results in the upcoming 2019 season. If he proves his talent, Duong Van Cuong will have many opportunities to be considered by SLNA's leadership to be promoted to the first team in the near future.

Before leaving for Binh Phuoc, Duong Van Cuong shared: “I will try my best to practice and compete well to respond to the trust of Binh Phuoc’s coaching staff as well as SLNA’s leadership. My biggest dream is to quickly be promoted to SLNA’s first team to compete in the V.League arena”./.
