The elderly farmer's family had their house burned down and 2 hectares of orange and guava trees cut down by vandals.
(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Do Quang Que (residing in Nghia Thang commune, Nghia Dan district - Nghe An province) claims that the total damage from 7 acts of vandalism by thieves is approximately 370 million VND.

Mr. Que (born in 1971) is the owner of a fruit farm in Rai hamlet, Nghia Thang commune, Nghia Dan district.
Mr. Que said that his family's approximately 2 hectares of orange and guava trees, planted more than 1.5 years ago, have been vandalized seven times. He estimates that the acts of vandalism have caused his family approximately 370 million VND in losses.
The first incident occurred on April 4, 2018, when vandals cut down 63 orange and guava trees. The most recent incident was around 5:30 PM on December 23, when the couple were returning home from the farm for some errands.

When I returned to the farm around 8:30 PM, the three-room house had been completely burned down. All the belongings, such as the motorbike, bed, television, tables, and chairs, were destroyed, and the garden had been completely cleared.
Mr. Que expressed his outrage, stating that all the family's efforts over the years of planting and caring for the crops had gone to waste. He affirmed that his family had no conflicts with anyone and hoped that the authorities would soon find the culprit and severely punish them according to the law.
Mr. Le Van Luong, the head of the Nghia Thang commune police, confirmed the incident and said that Mr. Que is from Doc Cao block, Thai Hoa town, and bought land in Rai hamlet, Nghia Thang commune to open a farm.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Canh Duan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghia Thang commune, said that the local government has directed the police force and self-governing groups to strengthen nighttime patrols.
"Currently, the district and commune police are investigating and clarifying the matter, and are pursuing the perpetrator of the vandalism," Mr. Duẫn added.
