Raiding a cockfighting den, arresting over 60 subjects
At the cockfighting arena, the authorities arrested 63 people, seized 130 million VND and 7 fighting cocks.
On January 1, Quang Tri Provincial Police were still verifying and taking statements from dozens of people arrested at a gambling cockfighting den in Truc Lam village, Gio Quang commune, Gio Linh district.

Previously, at around 2:00 p.m. on December 31, 2018, after a period of monitoring, the Criminal Police Department in coordination with the Mobile Police Department, Quang Tri Provincial Police suddenly raided Phuoc Truong Coffee Shop of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuoc (49 years old, residing in Truc Lam village, Gio Quang commune), catching dozens of subjects gambling in the form of cockfighting.
At the cockfighting arena, the authorities arrested 63 people, confiscated about 130 million VND, 30 motorbikes, 7 cars, 7 chickens (including 2 fighting chickens and 5 waiting to fight chickens) and many related exhibits. The arrested subjects were all men living in the province and some neighboring provinces such as Quang Binh and Thua Thien Hue. When the authorities raided, many people at the cockfighting arena tried to escape but were arrested by the authorities shortly afterwards.
