The Director of the Provincial Police Department emphasized that this is one of the three key breakthroughs that the industry will implement this year. "Reducing the physical nature of crimes but at the same time reducing the nature, level and consequences of crimes," said Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau when referring to the goal of reducing 4-5% of all types of crimes.

Currently, on average, Nghe An has about 2,000 - 2,800 cases each year. "If 200 cases are reduced, 200 families will not have anyone in prison and 200 families will not be harmed by criminals," said the head of the provincial police, affirming that from now on, the policy of reducing crime will be vigorously implemented by the provincial police to improve security and safety at the grassroots level.

He also said that this year the Ministry of Public Security directed the police force to focus on the grassroots to create a healthy environment for people to live in peace. According to the reflection of many National Assembly Deputies and the press, people's economic life has improved a lot, but in many residential areas, people are not yet at peace.

Regarding ensuring traffic safety and security during the Lunar New Year 2019, Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau said that the police force deployed 1,200 troops in Vinh City; in addition, the provincial police and the police of districts and towns increased the number of troops on the routes by 500.

"The police are currently vigorously pursuing crimes, especially theft, fire, and food safety crimes at the grassroots level," the provincial police chief affirmed, and at the same time requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels, and leaders of all sectors coordinate with the police force to ensure a peaceful Tet and strive to reduce crime in 2019.

Regarding the situation of firecracker trading, the head of the provincial police also affirmed that it was handled very strongly, but the situation of firecracker explosions was still potentially complicated and suggested that the districts follow Directive No. 4031 dated December 25, 2018 of the Provincial Party Committee to resolutely deploy the fight.
