The workshop aimed to implement the conclusion of the National Assembly Standing Committee at the 26th session. The Government assigned the Ministry of Education and Training to continue to collect opinions from the people, experts, and individuals for the draft revised Law on Education. In particular, focusing on the issues: position, role, and standards of teachers; on education management staff; and policies for teachers.
Attending the workshop, delegates were deeply aware of the important role of giving opinions to revise some contents of teacher policies in the draft Law on Education (amended) and affirmed that these contents will have a wide range of influence on teachers and education managers in the whole sector.
Through consultation, the opinions were basically unanimous and agreed with the Law on Education (amended). However, the delegates also said that some contents and articles in the draft law need to be adjusted in terms of wording and style to ensure accuracy and standards.
In particular, the workshop also discussed issues surrounding recruitment, job assignment for pedagogical students after graduation and the use of teachers; Salary and allowance policies for teachers; Teacher training and development; Honor and reward policies...

In addition, some opinions suggested that there should be policies for teachers working in specialized schools, in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions. In addition, many delegates also suggested that attention should be paid to teachers in normal schools with specialized students because currently many specialized students such as autistic, hyperactive, depressed students... are being sent to integrate into many public schools. There, teachers currently have to take on two tasks for normal students and specialized children but without any additional policies.
Previously, according to government regulations, teachers who directly teach people with disabilities using inclusive education methods were entitled to preferential allowances. However, in reality, in Nghe An and many other localities, this has not been fully implemented, causing disadvantages for female teachers.
Currently, Nghe An province has about 4,000 disabled students studying in integrated schools, including nearly 450 preschool students, 2,300 primary school students, nearly 1,000 secondary school students and 50 high school students. In addition, about 300 students are studying at the province's Center for Disabilities./.
