On the morning of January 9, Hung Nguyen District Police announced that they had just arrested 8 subjects related to the act of extortion of property, including: Bui Van Ho (born in 1987), residing in Tam Hop commune, Quy Hop district, Pham Quoc Bao (born in 1994), Dao Duy Khanh (born in 1991), Nguyen Thi Hanh (born in 1975), Nguyen Thi Vuong (born in 1971), all residing in Vinh city; Ngo Tuan Dung (born in 1973), residing in Van Dien commune, Nam Dan district; Luu Van Hung (born in 1989) and Ha Huy Y (born in 1995), residing in Hung Nguyen town, Hung Nguyen district.

Accordingly, because the debtor had not paid nearly 240 million VND by the due date, Bui Van Ho hired the above subjects to plan to block the car, arrest and beat Le Van T (born in 1978), residing in Dong Hop commune, Quy Hop district and the driver while transporting goods.
After being intercepted, the group threatened, controlled, and forced the victims to comply with their demands for their families to bring money to ransom the victims and goods back.
Upon receiving the news, Hung Nguyen District Police quickly began investigating and verifying. On January 7, Hung Nguyen District Police arrested the suspects while they were beating and illegally detaining people in Block 4, Hung Nguyen Town, Hung Nguyen District.
The case is currently under further investigation and the relevant subjects are being pursued for handling in accordance with the law.
