Activities to support and share with the poor and disadvantaged students

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 10, units, organizations and volunteer groups had activities to share and help poor students and poor households in mountainous districts.

* Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Dan districtpresented 15 million VND to poor students who have overcome difficulties in the area. This is one of the activities organized annually by the Fatherland Front of Nghia Dan district, to promptly encourage the spirit of students who have overcome difficulties to achieve better results in their studies.

*Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Thai Hoa townCoordinated with sponsors to hand over a house of gratitude to Mr. Ha Huy Tan, in Tan Long block, Long Son ward, who participated in the resistance war and was infected with toxic chemicals.

Previously, he, his wife and children lived in a cramped, seriously degraded level 4 house. Faced with this reality, organizations in Thai Hoa joined hands to help him build a new, spacious house with a total area of ​​over 50 square meters. The total value of the house is 200 million VND. Of which, 20 million VND was supported according to Decision No. 22 of the Prime Minister, 15 million VND from the Gratitude Fund and 120 million VND from corporate sponsorship.

Chau Cam Secondary School has two campuses: Chau Khe Border Secondary School and Cam Lam Secondary School. The school has 13 classes with 453 students from extremely disadvantaged areas.

On this occasion, teachers and students of Nghe An Ethnic Boarding High School presented 40 students of Chau Cam Secondary School with 40 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND. The total cash value was 12 million VND. In addition, the delegation also presented 1,522 notebooks, 2,555 pens and 100 school bags.

The delegation presented 100 gifts including warm clothes, books, notebooks, and school supplies to 100 students in especially difficult circumstances at Nga My Primary School, Tuong Duong District, and 3 wheelchairs.

Next, the delegation went to the homes of 3 disabled people with difficult family circumstances to present wheelchairs, including: Lu Van Suu, a 4th grade student at Yen Na Primary School; Lo Kham Say, residing in Dinh Tai village, Xieng My commune; and Lo Thi Hoan (born in 1962), residing in Pieng O village, Xieng My commune.

The total value of the gifts is 38 million VND, taken from the "Volunteer Fund for Contributing Love" launched by the Youth Union; money collected from implementing "youth work and support from businesses and the Nghe An Provincial Children's Support Fund.

There are 16 scholarships awarded this time, each worth 1 million VND. This is the second year that the Quynh Luu Propaganda Department has included the “Lighting up Dreams” column in the Quynh Luu newsletter. This program has attracted the attention of many readers. Through this program, the Propaganda Department has also mobilized sponsorship from many units and organizations to support and help poor students in the locality to have the conditions to excel in their studies.

This activity attracted a large number of students from Yen Na Primary School to participate, with hundreds of books and rich content displayed on the shelves of the mobile library, creating conditions for students to freely choose the books they want.

On this occasion, Nghe An Provincial Library also presented Yen Na Primary School with 70 books and many kinds of warm clothes. The next stop of the mobile library will be to bring the light of knowledge and give gifts to students of Huu Khuong Primary School.

* Ky Son Charity Club, Thien Tam Group and philanthropists in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh Cityvisited and gave many gifts to students and poor people in Ky Son district.

In Huoi Tu commune, the delegation presented 280 warm coats and 280 pairs of boots to students of Huoi Tu 2 Primary School; 312 warm coats, woolen hats and woolen socks to preschool students and 84 warm coats to elderly people in difficult circumstances in the commune.

On this occasion, the delegation also presented gifts worth 2 million VND to the Kindergarten and 5 million VND to Huoi Tu 2 Primary School. The total value of the gifts was over 300 million VND. This amount was donated by volunteers of charity groups, calling for support from benefactors to share the difficulties of students and poor people in Ky Son.
