(Baonghean.vn) - A few days ago, the Vietnam Football Federation announced the list of 30 players to prepare for the 2019 Southeast Asian U22 Championship.

Based on the VFF list, HAGL is the team that contributes the most faces (9 players), followed by Viettel and Hong Linh Ha Tinh (5 players)... Notably, SLNA only contributes 1 face, center back Thai Ba Sang, who is currently playing for Pho Hien on loan.

This information is not surprising to experts and fans of Nghe An. Because recently, SLNA players often make up a small number in the national youth teams (U16, U19 ...). Typically, in U19 Vietnam are Thai Ba Sang and Mai Sy Hoang, in U23 Vietnam are Phan Van Duc and Pham Xuan Manh.

Looking back at the past, Nghe An fans cannot help but feel sad and disappointed. In the past, every time the national teams gathered and participated in major tournaments (SEA Games, AFF Cup...), SLNA players always made up the majority. Obviously, SLNA's youth training is lagging far behind other training centers such as Hanoi, HAGL, Viettel...

Meanwhile, Hong Linh Ha Tinh fans were not much happier, even though their team contributed 5 players to this training session of U22 Vietnam. Faces such as Duong Tung Lam, Le Van Xuan, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Le Xuan Tu and Tran Duc Nam all grew up from the Hanoi training center and are not from Ha Tinh.

Thus, Thai Ba Sang is the only player from Nghe An in the U22 Vietnam squad. Putting this number next to the number of 5 players from Nghe An who are fighting with the Vietnam team at the 2019 Asian Cup (Que Ngoc Hai, Phan Van Duc, Nguyen Trong Hoang, Nguyen Cong Phuong and Ngan Van Dai), it is enough to see the difference.

Mentioning the list of U22 Vietnam, mentioning the Vietnam National Team, mentioning Nghe An players... is not to show localism or regional discrimination. More than anyone else, Nghe An fans always feel proud when witnessing their fellow countrymen appearing and contributing to the national teams.

Therefore, Nghe An fans have reason to worry, to be sad and disappointed when looking at the list of 30 U22 Vietnam players just announced by VFF. Simply put, for Nghe An fans, football is spiritual food, a source of pride for generations./.
