(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 20, Duc Hau Pagoda held a ceremony to consecrate and enshrine the golden statue of Buddha Shakyamuni in the joyful presence of thousands of Buddhists and tourists from within and outside the locality.
Thousands of tourists and Buddhist monks and nuns attended the Buddha statue installation ceremony.
The statue of Sakyamuni Buddha was cast within 2 months with a height of 5m and a weight of 10 tons. The statue was welcomed to Duc Hau Pagoda on January 17, 2019 and was honored in the highest position.
Before that, thousands of Buddhists held a ceremony to commemorate Buddha's enlightenment.
Venerable Thich Dinh Tue, abbot of Phuc Thanh Pagoda and Duc Hau Pagoda, presided over the ceremony with the presence of thousands of Buddhist monks and nuns.
The Shakyamuni Buddha statue will be a place of practice for thousands of Buddhists in and outside the locality.
At the ceremony, the Venerable Monks bowed and welcomed the Buddha, offering thanks to the Triple Gem.
The Buddha statue sits on a lotus throne in a meditative posture, majestic, steady and peaceful.
