(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 20th, Duc Hau Pagoda held a ceremony to consecrate and enshrine the golden statue of the Buddha Shakyamuni, with the joyful presence of thousands of Buddhists and tourists from within and outside the locality.
Thousands of tourists, monks, and Buddhist followers came to attend the ceremony for the installation of the Buddha statue.
The statue of Shakyamuni Buddha was cast over a period of two months, standing 5 meters tall and weighing 10 tons. The statue was brought to the grounds of Duc Hau Pagoda on January 17, 2019, and placed in the highest position.
Earlier, thousands of Buddhists had observed a mindfulness ceremony commemorating the Buddha's enlightenment.
Venerable Thich Dinh Tue, abbot of Phuc Thanh Pagoda and Duc Hau Pagoda, presided over the ceremony in the presence of thousands of monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers.
The statue of Shakyamuni Buddha will serve as a place of worship and practice for thousands of Buddhists from within and outside the local area.
At the ceremony, the Venerable Monks and Senior Monks paid homage, welcomed and enshrined the Buddha, and offered thanks to the Triple Gem.
The Buddha statue sits on a lotus throne in a meditative posture, majestic, steadfast, and peaceful.
Buddhists rejoiced on the day of the ceremony to welcome and enshrine the Buddha.
