Approving the position of Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee for the 2015 - 2020 term
The Politburo has highly agreed on assigning comrade Phan Viet Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Nam province (14th term) as Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee for the 2015 - 2020 term to replace comrade Nguyen Ngoc Quang who has retired.

On the morning of January 20, in Tam Ky City (Quang Nam Province), Comrade Pham Minh Chinh - Politburo member, Head of the Central Organizing Committee, on behalf of the Politburo, presented the Decision on retirement from January 1, 2019 to Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Quang - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Nam Province; at the same time, presented the Decision of the Politburo approving Comrade Phan Viet Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Nam Province (term XIV) to hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee for the 2015 - 2020 term.
Speaking at this working session, comrade Pham Minh Chinh said: Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Quang officially received the retirement decision as an affirmation and recognition by the Party and State of his working process and important contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation and the development of Quang Nam. He also hoped that, with the sense of responsibility of a cadre and party member with a long working process and accumulated a lot of experience, comrade Nguyen Ngoc Quang will continue to contribute to the revolutionary cause, contributing to the development of the locality and the country.
Comrade Pham Minh Chinh also affirmed that the Politburo had reached a high consensus on assigning comrade Phan Viet Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the 14th Provincial National Assembly Delegation to be Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee for the 2015 - 2020 term to replace comrade Nguyen Ngoc Quang who retired.
He suggested that in his new position as Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee, with the wholehearted support of the Party Committee, the government and the people in the province, Comrade Phan Viet Cuong will continue to inherit the achievements and experiences of his predecessors and with his capacity, intelligence and steadfast political will, will soon grasp the new work tasks, together with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee, unite with all the people and soldiers in the province to strive to excellently complete the Resolution of the 21st Provincial Party Committee, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress.
Speaking at the working session, comrade Phan Viet Cuong thanked the Party Committee and people of Quang Nam province and the Politburo for entrusting him with the new responsibility; at the same time, he hoped to continue receiving the attention, leadership, direction and assistance of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Central ministries and branches; the support and assistance of comrades in the Provincial Party Executive Committee, cadres, party members, intellectuals and people of all walks of life in the province; and the sincere comments of veteran revolutionaries and former leaders so that he could excellently fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and people.
Earlier, on the same morning, comrade Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of Quang Nam province visited and presented New Year gifts to 50 policy households and those in difficult circumstances in Tra Doc commune (Bac Tra My); visited and presented New Year gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Ho Thi Nhan (94 years old, Tien Tho commune, Tien Phuoc).
