(Baonghean.vn) - On January 24, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee led a working delegation to visit, give gifts and wish a Happy New Year to a number of units, families with meritorious services and households in special circumstances in Tuong Duong district.

Visiting, wishing a happy new year and encouraging 32 poor households affected by the 2018 flood in Luong Minh commune, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong shared the difficulties that the Thai ethnic community here is experiencing.

Luong Minh Commune was severely affected by floods in 2018, especially households within the affected area after the flood discharges of hydroelectric plants. Currently, people's lives are still facing many difficulties, with 32 households living in makeshift conditions.

Sharing with the people, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong said that the Party Committees and authorities at all levels understand the difficulties that the people have been and are experiencing, and will always care, accompany, and create conditions for the people to soon stabilize their lives. The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also hopes that the people will make efforts to overcome the current obstacles and coordinate with local authorities to effectively resolve social security issues.
On this occasion, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee sent New Year greetings and presented 32 gifts to the people.

Next, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong visited, presented gifts, and wished a Happy New Year to teachers and students of the Tuong Duong District Ethnic Minority Secondary School. Here, comrade Nguyen Van Thong toured and inspected the school's facilities, teaching and learning conditions, and visited the dormitory and dining hall of the students.
Tuong Duong District Ethnic Minority Secondary School was built in 2009. The school currently has 318 students, including 254 Thai ethnic students, 22 O Du ethnic students, 19 Kho Mu ethnic students, and 10 Mong ethnic students.

Excited about the spacious facilities and many innovations of the school, comrade Nguyen Van Thong said that the Tuong Duong District Ethnic Minority Secondary School can be considered a model of the provincial education sector in terms of education and training in mountainous areas. The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also reminded the school's Board of Directors and teachers that in teaching activities, in addition to providing knowledge to students, they need to equip them with life skills and respect the thinking and creativity of each student. Especially, it is necessary to constantly promote the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural identity in the school environment. The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee instructed the local education sector and teachers to pay attention to managing and taking care of students during Tet, reminding them to have a safe Tet.

Talking to patients and their relatives, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee said that with a spacious medical examination and treatment facility, constantly invested equipment and increasingly improved quality of care and treatment, people are completely assured and trust the medical team of the center. He hopes that patients will actively receive treatment so that they can soon return home to celebrate Tet with their families.

Talking with the leaders, staff, and doctors of Tuong Duong District Medical Center, comrade Nguyen Van Thong praised the working spirit of the unit, and at the same time requested the center to prepare adequate means, machinery, and medicine to serve the needs of the people before, during, and after Tet. In addition, strengthening the inspection and supervision of epidemic hygiene issues, the District Medical Center has a plan to assign people to be on duty during Tet seriously and effectively, ensuring that they are not passive in the face of situations that arise.

Tam Quang Border Guard Station is currently managing 24km of border and 5 border markers with Laos.
