(Baonghean.vn) - Responding to the Provincial Party Secretary's call for support for Tet for the poor, on January 25, units and organizations continued activities of giving Tet gifts to the poor and policy families.

At the places he visited, the Chairman of the District People's Committee gave gifts and sent health wishes, New Year wishes, and encouraged families to overcome difficulties and illnesses to rise up in life.

At this program, 26 union members with especially difficult circumstances received gifts from the Provincial Labor Federation, 40 union members with difficult circumstances received gifts from the Tan Ky District Labor Federation. The total value of the gifts was nearly 40 million VND.

On this occasion, Vinh Chemical Joint Stock Company also presented many gifts to union members with especially difficult circumstances in Tan Ky district.

* Military Hospital 4organized medical examinations, health consultations, provided free medicine and gave gifts to 10 families in especially difficult circumstances in Hung Loc commune (Vinh city), each gift worth 500,000 VND.

Colonel Tran Minh Tuan - Political Commissar of the Hospital gave gifts to families in difficult circumstances in Hung Loc commune, Vinh city.

Also on this occasion, the Hospital organized a working group to examine, provide health consultation, and provide free medicine to 250 people, and gave 10 gifts and 100 warm coats to students of Na Ngoi Primary School, Ky Son District. The total amount of money for the Tet gift giving was nearly 60 million VND.

* Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans of Quynh Luu DistrictCoordinate with businesses and philanthropists to organize giving Tet gifts to people with disabilities and orphans in the district.

On this occasion, the Association presented 6 wheelchairs to the disabled in the communes of Quynh Ba, Quynh Hong, Quynh Luong, and Quynh Thach. 17 gifts from the Nghe An Compassion Flower Association were presented to families with 3 or more disabled people. Each gift was worth 600,000 VND. In addition, 57 gifts were presented to orphans.

Here, comrade Nguyen Hai Thanh - Chairman of the Provincial Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans directly presented 2 gifts from the association to families with special difficulties in Quynh Bang and Quynh Van communes. Each gift is worth 1 million VND.

* Tan Ky District Red Cross and Tien Ky Primary School (Tan Ky)organized the program "Loving Tet" and gave 460 banh chung, 25 gifts, 16 warm clothes to poor students to celebrate Tet with a total value of nearly 11 million VND. The cost was donated by staff, teachers, students, and parents of the whole school.

On this occasion, the Tan Ky District Red Cross also presented gifts worth 2 million VND. In addition, the school also organized a year-end meal for the students.

Phuong Thao

* Nghia Dan District Medical Centerorganized the giving of 10 gifts to 10 poor households in Nghia Mai commune, each gift worth 500,000 VND. The money for the gifts was donated and supported by civil servants, public employees, and workers of Nghia Dan District Medical Center.

* Nghe An Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Corporationdonated 3.5 tons of NA6 rice to nearly 200 poor households in 2 communes of Dong Van and Huong Son (Tan Ky), of which 1.5 tons were supported for poor households in Huong Son commune and 2 tons for Dong Van commune.
