3 Nghe An youths "wrapped" 120 heroin cakes around a car to transport back to Vietnam
Van Anh and two other Nghe An youths stuffed hundreds of bricks of drugs into the bumper, exhaust pipe and passenger seat to transport from Laos to Vietnam.
On January 25, Ha Tinh authorities said that expanding the investigation into the discovery of 120 heroin cakes at Cau Treo border gate, the police agency is temporarily detaining Nguyen Quoc Trung (38 years old, residing in Huong Son district), Nguyen Van Anh (28 years old), Nguyen Duy Que (31 years old), Le Thanh Tap (28 years old, all residing in Nghe An) to investigate the crime.Illegal drug trafficking, according to Article 251 of the 2015 Penal Code.

According to investigation documents, at around 4:30 p.m. on January 23, at the entry lane of Cau Treo international border gate (Huong Son district), the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with many interdisciplinary forces of Ha Tinh to inspect a 5-seat car with Hanoi license plate driven by Van Anh on suspicion of transporting drugs.
Through inspection, detectives discovered 34 heroin cakes hidden in the bumper, 31 cakes stuffed in the reinforced exhaust pipe, and 55 cakes under the passenger seat.

Van Anh said he was hired by Trung to drive a car transporting drugs from Laos to Vietnam, and told him to call Trung back about 15 minutes after passing Cau Treo border gate to arrange for someone to receive the goods.
From Van Anh's testimony, the police arrested Trung, Que and Tap.
