(Baonghean.vn) - While going to China to sell fetuses, women from Ky Son district were involved in a traffic accident that resulted in one death.

On the evening of January 26, representatives of the Criminal Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), together with Nghe An Provincial Police and Blue Dragon Child Protection Organization, brought Moong Thi Oanh (also known as Moong Thi Ba, 32 years old, Cha Lan village, Huu Lap commune), and 3 other women to Ky Son district to hand over to their families.

Oanh and her Chinese husband are suspected of leading a ring that takes pregnant Vietnamese women to China to give birth, then sells the newborn babies to wealthy but infertile families in that country.

Previously, as Nghe An Newspaper had reported in a series of articles, in mid-2018, Oanh brought four women from her hometown to cross the border to China. Of these five women, four were pregnant from the fifth to the eighth month.

On September 20, they were riding a tricycle driven by Oanh’s Chinese husband in Duong Cao Commune (Hebei Province, China) when a traffic collision occurred. The accident resulted in Moong Thi Lam (29 years old, Chieu Luu Commune, Ky Son) dying on the spot. The others were seriously injured.

On October 11, Moong Thi M. (25 years old, Huu Kiem commune) gave birth to a baby boy at Thanh An hospital (Ha Bac province) while undergoing treatment.

After many months of investigation, on January 25, Chinese police led these four women and their 3-month-old son, Moong Thi M.'s son, to Mong Cai border gate to hand them over to Vietnamese authorities.

Oanh's Chinese husband is still being detained by local authorities for further investigation.

Speaking to Nghe An Newspaper reporters, the Blue Dragon Child Protection Organization said that after handing over these women to their families, the organization will also take positive steps to support their reintegration into the community, and at the same time issue a birth certificate for a 3-month-old boy born in China.

The case is still under investigation and expansion.
