President Poroshenko: Ukraine needs to create a “cold peace” with Russia

President Petro Poroshenko asserted that Ukraine needs to create a "cold peace" with Russia.
"Of course, we need peace with Russia. Cold, but peaceful. Kiev will go its own way" - President Poroshenko affirmed.
Tensions between Russia and Ukraine have shown no signs of abating since Russia seized three Ukrainian naval vessels in the Kerch Strait in November 2018. The international community has called on Russia and Ukraine to resolve the tensions through dialogue to avoid escalating the current situation.
With relations between Russia and Ukraine still strained following Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014 and disagreements over the crisis in eastern Ukraine, the latest tensions risk pushing Russia and Ukraine into a broader conflict.
