Arrested a group of people buying, selling and storing 30kg of firecrackers
(Baonghean.vn) - From information from the people, the authorities caught a group of people trading and storing 30kg of firecrackers.
On the morning of January 30, Quy Hop District Police announced that they had just arrested a group of people who were buying, selling, and storing 30kg of firecrackers for use during the 2019 Lunar New Year.
Specifically, at around 12:00 on January 29, from information from the people, the authorities conducted an administrative inspection and caught Nguyen Ngoc Thai (born 2002), residing in block 13, Quy Hop town, illegally possessing a package of firecrackers weighing 0.2 kg.

From Thai's testimony, the police executed an emergency search warrant at the house of Tran Thi Binh (born 1979, Thai's mother) and seized 11 boxes of fireworks and 1 box of firecrackers.
Through the investigation, Thai and her mother confessed that the fireworks belonged to Dinh Thi Diep (born in 1975) and Ho Ngoc Dung (born in 1972), both living in block 13, Quy Hop town.

Continuing the emergency search warrant on Diep and his wife's house, Dung seized 2 boxes of square fireworks measuring 26x26 and voluntarily surrendered 2 more bundles of fireworks. The total amount of fireworks seized from the subjects was 30kg.
Dung and Diep admitted that they bought the fireworks from the northern provinces to sell for profit and use during the 2019 Lunar New Year, but were arrested by authorities before they could sell them.
