(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of the 4th day of Tet, all localities of Anh Son district held longevity celebrations for the elderly. This is a beautiful cultural feature held annually on the occasion of the New Year, showing the respect and gratitude of children and grandchildren towards those who gave birth and raised them.

The ceremony to welcome the elders to celebrate their longevity was carefully prepared by their children and grandchildren with cars decorated with flowers, balloons and colorful flags.

Some elderly people, despite their old age, are still accompanied by their children and grandchildren to join in the celebration.

Those aged 90 and over were awarded certificates by the Association of the Elderly and other levels and given red uniforms to show their respect.

"My legs have difficulty walking and my eyes are dim, but when my children and the government take care of me like this, I am very satisfied," said 90-year-old Khai in village 11 (Tao Son commune).

The longevity celebration in Tao Son commune (Anh Son district) is usually held annually at the hall of the commune People's Committee. According to Mr. Le Xuan Hoan - Chairman of Tao Son commune People's Committee, this year the commune has 75 elderly people having longevity celebrations, including 4 elderly people over 100 years old, 7 elderly people 90 years old.

This is also an opportunity for children and grandchildren living far away from home to come back and celebrate with their grandparents and record moments of the New Year.

After the ceremony at the People's Committee of the commune, the elders were welcomed back to their homes so that their children, grandchildren and neighbors could congratulate them.
