Arrested suspect of raping and murdering young woman during 3 days of Tet
After screening 1,000 young people, Dien Bien police found the identities of the group of suspects who murdered a female student who was delivering chicken on the afternoon of the 30th of Tet.
On the afternoon of February 11, the Dien Bien Provincial Police Investigation Agency announced that it had arrested Vuong Van Hung - one of the suspects in the case of illegal detention, gang rape, murder and robbery.
Hung confessed that on February 4 (the 30th day of the Lunar New Year), he went to the district market to play and saw a beautiful female student helping her relative sell chickens, so he pretended to ask to buy them and asked for her phone number for easy contact. At 6:00 p.m. the same day, after discussing with four accomplices, Hung called to order 10 chickens and asked the girl to deliver them to Thanh Truong ward, Dien Bien Phu city.

30 minutes later, the 21-year-old girl brought chickens to the address, Hung gave another tip, then controlled the victim. The group detained and raped the female student, and on February 6 took her to an abandoned house to kill her. All of the chickens and personal belongings, including the victim's cell phone, were taken by Hung's group.
When their daughter did not return, the family reported it to the police. Three days later, the motorbike and the victim’s body were found several dozen kilometers from home.
The police are hunting for the remaining suspects. Nearly 1,000 people under the management of Dien Bien Phu city and Dien Bien district have been screened. Police and border guards have been ordered to block the border and national highways 12, 6, 279, and provincial roads in Dien Bien.
