Female student murdered while delivering chicken: Suspect's conflicting statements
The suspect Vuong Van Hung confessed to killing the female student Duyen, however his testimony was very limited and had many contradictions.
Vuong Van Hung (born in 1984, residing in Tan Thuy block, Tuan Giao town, Tuan Giao district) was detained by Dien Bien Provincial Police to investigate the murder and robbery of female student Cao My Duyen (22 years old, residing in team 5, Thanh Hung commune, Dien Bien district).
Hung confessed to killing the victim to rob her property. But the investigation team said there were many contradictions in his testimony.

According to an investigator, it was several hours after the suspect was brought to the station that he admitted to the crime. However, his statement was incomplete.
According to the testimony, Hung strangled the victim on the evening of the 30th of Tet when Duyen brought chicken. After taking the property and motorbike, the suspect took the unfortunate person to the gate of the Traffic Construction Company in Thanh Nua Commune, Dien Bien District, nearly 10 km from the center of Dien Bien City. This detail contradicts the autopsy results which determined that the victim died 48 hours before being found at 10:00 am on February 7 (the 3rd day of Tet).

An investigator also stated that if Hung murdered the victim on the evening of New Year's Eve, then by the time the victim's body was discovered, it would have been more than 3 days (about 65 hours), and the body would have definitely decomposed. In fact, when the police examined Duyen's body, it had not decomposed. This shows that Hung has not told the whole truth.
Student My Duyen went missing on the afternoon of February 4 (New Year's Eve) while delivering chickens to a man. Two days later, her motorbike was found on the road in Team 18, Noong Luong Commune, more than 20km from her home.
At around 10:00 a.m. on February 7, people in Team 11, Thanh Nua Commune, Dien Bien District discovered Duyen's body in the pigsty of an empty house, about 50 meters from National Highway 12.
