The Vietnam national team coach expressed his confidence after his student completed the loan procedure to Incheon United on the morning of February 14.

Coach Park Hang-seo and assistant Lee Young-jin accompanied Cong Phuong to the Incheon United debut in Korea. After his student signed a contract with the new team, he expressed: "Cong Phuong has proven himself to be the best striker in Vietnam, and now he will have to do the same in Korea."

Cong Phuong is the second Vietnamese player, after Xuan Truong in 2016, to play for Incheon United. This is also the second trip abroad for the HAGL striker, after being loaned to Mito Hollyhock three years ago.

"Every time I meet the players, I encourage them to go abroad to play. I am happy that Incheon United chose Cong Phuong. He has the ability to score well and plays effectively in a small area. Cong Phuong's mentality is very strong, and I believe he will overcome this challenge," added coach Park Hang-seo.

Assistant Lee Young-jin said: "Cong Phuong will have a step forward in his career when playing in the K-League. He has a clear goal in utilizing his personal skills. I think there will be no problem adapting to the new environment, if Cong Phuong tries as hard as he has for the past year."

The 2019 K-League 1 season will kick off on March 1. Incheon will play at home against Jeju, who finished four places above them in the 2018 season.

Cong Phuong said he learned a lot about Korean football from coach Park and Xuan Truong.
