Haitian protesters oppose alliance with US and “welcome Putin“
Protesters in Haiti have rejected the alliance with the United States and turned to Moscow, Caracas and Beijing for help in resolving the crisis, Le Journal de Montreal reported.

"We want to declare the end of relations with the United States. They have occupied this country long enough, and we don't want that to continue," protest leader Bronson told reporters.
According to media reports, participants in the marches in the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince declared President Moise and former head of state Michel Martelly to be "Washington's lackeys." In addition, Haitians burned the US flag, chanting: "Down with the Americans, welcome Putin!". Police had to use tear gas to disperse the protesters.
The first mass protests in the Republic of Haiti were held last week. People demanded the resignation of President Jovenel Moise, accusing his government of failing to provide citizens with basic necessities.
Despite the ongoing turmoil in the country, Moise says he has no intention of stepping down from his post.
According to media reports, there have been at least seven victims of the protest movement. Among them is a young man killed just meters from the presidential palace in Port-au-Prince.
