Ready for enlistment day
(Baonghean.vn) - In just a few days, young people across the country in general and Nghe An province in particular will leave for military service. Before the departure date, although they know there will be many challenges, the young recruits are still full of excitement and anticipation.
Continuing the tradition
The family has many brothers and sisters who work far away, so even though the day of enlistment is near, parishioner Tran Ba Huu (Hamlet 4, Nghi Dong Commune, Nghi Loc) still follows his parents to the fields to plant rice. The work is hard, but for Huu, this is something he has done for many years. On this occasion, Huu tries to work faster because he is worried that in a few days, he will enlist and there will be no one at home to help his parents.

Tran Ba Huu's family has 4 brothers and Huu is the youngest. Huu's father - Mr. Tran Ba Dao, had previously been the village chief for 9 years, so every year he and the village cadres encouraged young people to join the military service and every year they exceeded the quota. He only regretted that his family had sons but they were all small. Therefore, his wish to have children follow the military career and fulfill his unfinished dream had not been fulfilled. When I was young, I served in the army for a year in Ha Tay. But then, due to a mistake in the records, I could only serve for a short time and then quit. I really wanted my children to join the army because it was a training environment, and they would quickly mature.
Previously, after graduating from Nghi Loc 2 High School, Huu followed his brother to Saigon to work and had a fairly stable income of nearly 5 million VND/month. However, when hearing the information about military recruitment in the commune, Huu's father immediately called the South and told Huu to quickly come back for a military examination because "at home, only Huu is tall enough". Listening to his father, despite the long distance, Huu quickly returned to participate in the military examination according to regulations and received an order to enlist in the air force unit in Da Nang in early 2019. Although up to this point, Huu could not fully imagine his new mission in the unit, when talking about enlisting, Huu was really excited. The young rookie also had high expectations because: when he joined the army, he would be able to follow in the footsteps of his family's tradition. He also hoped that the military environment would help him gain the necessary skills to be healthier and more confident when entering life.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Thuan, Commander of Nghi Dong Commune Military Command, said: In Nghi Dong, there are many veterans who have joined the army and participated in the battles to protect the Fatherland. The veterans are also active propagandists who regularly promote and encourage their children to continue joining the army, continuing the tradition of their family and homeland.
From Nghi Dong, going up to Nghi Lam, many young men who are children of Mau Lam parish are also very excited to prepare for the day of enlistment. At the family of new soldier Nguyen Van Thanh (village 14), we also met Nguyen Van Minh - Thanh's cousin who had just been discharged from the army. Meeting his younger brother, Minh excitedly told about more than two years in the army as a coast guard. The days of wandering with the waves, with the marches through the waves and wind have also helped Minh, from a young boy, become a strong and resilient person. Minh also did not forget to tell his younger brother: Although joining the army will be hard and arduous, in return, each person will learn a lot. In particular, joining the army will help us have many new comrades, know more about the countryside and will understand and love our homeland and country more...
